This programme can be taken from anywhere in New Zealand with our distance delivery which participants say is more personal than much in-person delivery.

This programme is primarily for people who want a laboratory job, but have not yet worked in a professional laboratory.

We lend

We lend the following to participants without any extra charge.  We pay the courier charges when the items are sent to the participant, and when the participant returns the items.

Entry requirements
  • NCEA Level 2 (or equivalent), and

  • demonstration of understanding of the micro-credential, and general suitability for the study through Real World Education's pre-entry process.

Intakes

Programme can be completed in about three weeks of full-time effort.  Longer intakes allow the option of working at a slower pace if you wish.

13 February 2023 – 26 May 2023
First assignment (about 10% of programme) must be completed by 23 February 2023.

Intake 4005-32
Although open to others, this intake is specially designed to allow Year 13 students to do this during School Holidays between terms 1 and 2 and between terms 2 and 3.  It is intended that participants will not work on this programme during Term 2.
07 April 2023 – 16 July 2023 (study break during all of school Term 2)

First assignment (about 10% of programme) must be completed by 20 July 2023.

14 August 2023 – 24 November 2024
First assignment (about 10% of programme) must be completed by 24 August 2023.

11 September 2023 – 22 December 2024
First assignment (about 10% of programme) must be completed by 21 September 2023.

Intake 4005-38
09 October 2023 - 05 April 2024
First assignment (about 10% of programme) must be completed by 19 October 2023.

Intake 4005-39
Although open to others, this intake is specially designed to allow people just completing Years 12 and Year 13 do this during the summer.
15 November 2023 – 25 January 2024
First assignment (about 10% of programme) must be completed by 15 December 2023.
